TENNESSEE GOLF FOUNDATION STAFF - JUNIOR GOLF DEPARTMENT

Born and raised in Michigan, Steve was introduced to the game at an early age by his Grandfather. After moving to California at age 12 and missing sign ups for baseball, he decided to take up the golf as his primary sport. Two years later he moved to Franklin, Tennessee and began playing on the Vince Gill Junior Tour, which is currently know as the TGA Junior Tour.

Steve graduated from Centennial High School in Franklin in 2000 and moved on to play college golf at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C.. Although his plans to play professionally fell through, he knew he wanted to stay in the golf business. After a golf industry job search in early 2005, he came upon an internship with the Tennessee Golf Foundation conducting golf events for Special Olympics Tennessee. Near the end of his 10-month internship (Early 2006), the Tennessee Golf Foundation went under some staff re-alignment and an opportunity arose to become Director of the Junior Tour. The 2012 season will be his seventh as Director.
