FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Franklin, TN) - We hope the first two weeks of the season have been enjoyable for everyone on Tour. We wanted to take a minute of your time to go over a few key notes to make you aware of as we progress into the season:
1. Caddies: Caddies will no longer be allowed in the Boys 10-13 Tour and Girls 11-14 Tour divisions. The trial period has ended and players within those divisions must carry their own bags at the events. For caddies in the Micro divisions, be sure to not stand behind your player while they are making the stroke. If the caddy stands in the players line of play, the player will be issued a two-stoke penalty under Rule 14-2b (Striking the ball: Assistance, pg. 47 in USGA Rule Book)
2. Scorecards: Be sure that your scorecard has two signatures (marker and competitor) and that all the holes are filled in with a score before returning the scorecard to the Blue Scorecard Return Box. No changes can be made to the scorecard after it has been returned so be sure to double-check everything before you return it.
3. Award Plates: After each event there will be award plates for your membership plaque positioned in the scoring area for every player. If you leave the golf course before you pick up your plate please ask the staff at the next event and they will be able to retrieve one for you. If at the end of the season you are still left with some plates to gather, you can call the office and we can get them made and sent to you at a small fee.
4. Suspension and Resumption of play: Over the past week we have run into a couple of disqualification penalties for those players that have resumed play prior to hearing the horn sound. The staff on site will make announcements prior to each resumption and will let you know when and how play will be resumed. At all events, player cannot resume play until the horn is sounded. If they do, a disqualification penalty will be assessed.
5. Waiting Lists: If you are currently on a waiting list for an event and know you will not be able to attend the event if a spot becomes available, please let us know at the office so we can properly fill an open spot. This will allow us to maximize the number of players to play each day.
6. Tournament of Champions/Aspen Grove Challenge: The first rankings will be available at 5:00pm central time on Saturday, June 20th. Along with the rankings will be all the pertinent information (schedule, practice rounds, food, etc.) for each event. Please hold your questions on those events until all the information becomes available on Saturday evening.
We have had a great first two weeks of the season and we are looking forward to the remaining events. If you have any questions please feel free to call or email. We can be reached by phone at 615.790.3336 or by email at tnjuniorgolf@pgahq.com.
Kind Regards, TGA Junior Tour Staff
