WEEK FIVE HIGHLIGHTS

(Franklin, TN) - The great golf continued in week five and below are some highlights from the week's action:

1. From week four: Nic Vandeventer from Bristol shot a great round of 30 at The Virginian on June 16th to capture the Boys 10-11 Micro Division by 11 strokes.

2. Mary Funk of Nashville continued her wonderful play by winning twice this week at Smyrna Municipal and Cookeville GC to capture the Girls 15-18 Tour Division at both events. 

3. Carter Billingsly (Collierville) fired a second round 71 to win the Boys 12-13 Masters Division at the TMACS event at Plantation GC in Olive Branch, MS.

4. David Talley of Blountville shot a second round, 2-under par 70 to erase a five stroke deficit after round one to win the Boys 16-18 Masters Division at the TMACS event at Graysburg Hills GC in Chuckey, TN.

5. Grant Daugherty (Alcoa) shot a 3-under par round of 69 during the first round of the TMACS event at Graysburg Hills.

6. Corey Evans (Cleveland) and Scottie Marsh (Alcoa) fired under par rounds of 69 and 70 respectively to win their divisions at the Moccasin Bend event on June 24th.

7. Angela Dixon of Cookeville had two wonderful tournaments this week in the Girls 11-14 Tour Division. She shot a 40 at Nashboro Village on June 24th and followed it up the next day with a 35 at Cookeville GC.

8. Codie Welborn of Murfreesboro shot a 3-under par round of 69 at Cookeville GC to win the Boys 16-18 Masters Division.

9. Matthew Hotsinpiller (Mt. Juliet) shot an even par round of 36 to win the Boys 10-13 Tour Division at Cookeville GC.

10. Thomas Holt had a hole-in-one on #3 at Cookeville GC. Congrats Thomas.

11. Cameron Dugger of Elizabethton shot a 1-under par round of 35 to win the 10-13 Tour Division at Elizabethton GC.

12. Skip Jones (Murfreesboro), AJ Wilkerson (Sparta) and Landon Albert (Greenbrier) all shot even par rounds to win their respective divisions at McCabe GC in Nashville.

Disqualifications:   10 Total

4: Signed for a lower score than taken. Rule 6-6

1: Played from a wrong place and did not correct mistake before teeing off on next hole. Rule 27-1.

2: Failure to hole out. Player thought there was a stroke limit and picked up ball before being holed out.

3: Late to tee. Rule 6-3. Note: Please be sure you are at the proper teeing ground before your published starting time. This will help prevent any future penalties from occuring.

Two warnings were given out throughout the week to those players that acted in an unsportsmanlike manner (i.e. club throwing, cursing, defacing golf course property). The first offense is a verbal warning while subsequent offenses will result in disqualification and/or suspension.
Note: Please do not throw clubs, curse or deface any golf course property. We are very fortunate to have access to many golf courses throughtout the state, and acts such as these could result in non-committments from these courses in the future.
