WEEK ONE HIGHLIGHTS

(Franklin, TN) - Week one of the 2008 season is in the books and below are some highlights from this week tournaments:

1.  Taylor Manning of Brentwood fired of final round 6 under 66 at GreyStone GC in Dickson. She finishes the event at 3 under par 141 for a 15-stroke win in the Girls 15-18 Masters division. The round of 66 is the lowest recorded score on the TGA Junior Tour in over 5 years.

2. Tennessee River GC produced two play-offs in the five division that competed on Wednesday. In the 16-18 Tour and 14-15 Tour divisions it took extra holes to produce a winner. In the 16-18 division T.J. Reeves came out on top while in the 14-15 division Cameron Ricketts won in the play-off.

3. At Milan G&CC, Dillan Barrom shot a 2-under par 34 to win the 10-11 Micro division. His round included 1 eagles, 2 birdies, 2 bogies and 4 pars. Congratulations to Dillan on a great under par round.

Disqualifications: We will document the week's disqualification as a learning tool to members.

During week one of the junior tour we had 4 disqualifications:

(3):  Signed for a lower score than taken. Under rule 6-6d a player is responsible to record the score that was taken on the hole. If he/she signs for and returns a lower score than taken the player is subject to disqualification.

(1): Arrived at starting hole later than established starting time. Under rule 6-3a a player must start at the time established by the committee. If the player arrives after his/her starting time they have 5 minutes to start before being disqualified. If they do arrive within 5 minutes they are penalized 2 strokes and will be allowed to compete. If they do not arrive within 5 minutes they are subject to disqualification.
